Addis Ababa University College of Health Sciences Office of Innovation and Engagement

The office acts as chief architect for translating the college’s academic expertise into tangible societal impact and sustainable revenue. This role drives the commercialization of knowledge through robust university-industry linkages, intellectual property filing, certification and licensing, technology transfer, and community engagement.

A key focus is the strategic development for promoting partnership and collaboration with industries

(private, governmental, and nongovernmental sectors) for mutual benefits, marketing, and delivery of high-quality, fee-based professional services—including executing training, specialized testing, and consultancy, coupled with professional community engagement—ensuring they become a significant, well-managed revenue stream for the college while upholding academic integrity and quality.
